Term 4 week 9 - Graduation

This week is graduation week for the year 6's.  It is their time to shine and reflect on the year.  Here is the video of Whakapono 21 & 22.

This year for our graduation dinner we decided to have it at school with a follow up disco.  What a night it was.  The hall looked amazing and so did our kids.  We are very grateful at our school for our Board of Trustees and Mr Vasau who made it happen.  Honestly watch the video, it was such an epic success.  The kids will raving about it for years.  Memories to cherish.  I'm going to miss my kids but I hope they leave Rowandale School with a great work ethic and a sense of self belief!

Prize giving

What a day!  As the last few weeks pass us by it seems bittersweet that our class for 2019 will all go their different ways soon.  It’s been awesome seeing all my kids grow in some way.  Always wishing them the best and hoping that they become independent people who work hard.

Our winners today were Micah Hayes for the Year 6 academic excellence award in Maths, Reading and Writing.  He topped his year group and I can only be proud of him!  He’s going to be a doctor one day and I can’t wait to see.  He also got our academic award for Whakapono it.

Next we had Taniara Lavea for most improved.  She has worked so hard on fixing the little things to make her grow as a learner.

Our Participation certificate went to Kanume Kautai.  She has been actively putting her hand up and giving everything a go  and just brings her own flare to her dancing too.

Our Respect award went Toko Aviri.  She is an amazing kid that always exemplifies our PRIDE values.

Our Integrity award went to Utumaoe Pilimai.  She always makes good choices and has high standards.

Our Determination award went to Heleina Kirkwood.  She has pushed herself to be better and she has succeeded.

Our Empathy award goes to Ayden Steven.  He is one of the nicest kids I’ve ever met.

Term 4 - week 8

The end of the year is fast approaching.  Kanume, Taniara and Utumaoe were on lolly lei duty.  They totally volunteered for it and were so excited to do them for our prize winners this week for graduation.  I literally just gave them everything they would need and let them just go for it. They did a great job, excited as for Friday!

Term 4 - week 7

This week saw us doing Art.  Our focus was going from dark to light using pastels.  The kids did a great job of blending their colours to give it a better effect.  All in all the kids loved it and it really looks nice up on our windows.
